DESCRIPTION
Born in Oxnard (California), Anderson .Paak already made a name for himself in Los Angeles' music scene as a drummer and producer, vocalist and singer/songwriter. In the beginning he produced under the pseudonym "Breezy Lovejoy" - unfortunately the success did not come. It wasn't long before Dr. Dre took him under his wing and signed him to his label. On Dre's gold-awarded album "Compton" he received six guest appearances and soon released his second album "Malibu", accompanied by a tour with Bruno Mars.
With his pre-released singles "Bubblin" and "Tints" ft. Kendrick Lamar and the announced features of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Pusha T, J. Cole and Chicago Kid, the Grammy-nominated musician, producer and multi-instrumentalist already delivers a taste of what to expect from the new album: he again proves his ability to create a successful symbiosis of soul, hip hop, jazz, electronic funk and R&B. With a soulful core that reaches back to some of the most legendary voices of the 70s, while embodying a raw uniqueness of the here and now, the singer and rapper continues his unique sound that is equally indestructible, irresistible and incredibly good.
Rolling Stone summed it up succinctly, "If he keeps this up, Anderson .Paak will be the new Kendrick Lamar."
